Nuno Duarte Gil Mendes Bettencourt (born September 20, 1966) is a Portuguese Americanguitarist, singer-songwriter, and record producer. He is best known for his role as the lead guitarist of the Bostonrock band Extreme whose hits include the acoustic ballads "More Than Words" and "Hole Hearted". Guitar virtuoso Nuno Bettencourt made his name with the eclectic pop-metal outfit Extreme during the height of the guitar-shredder era, and embarked on a solo career after the band's breakup. Unable to make a dent in the music world with his Boston-based hair-metal act Sinful, Bettencourt rose to international prominence as a guitar player after he joined the Boston-area group Extreme in 1985.
The song Cupid's dead, Get the funk out, Decadence dance and tons of other funk metal songs cemented his name as one of the greatest funk guitarist with amazing accurate tempo.
