Boss DS-1

"Continuously produced since 1978, the Boss DS-1 Distortion is the second most-popular Boss pedal of all time (topped only by the TU-2 Chromatic Tuner). This humble distortion pedal is the foundation of Steve Vai and Joe Satriani’s solo tones as well as Kurt Cobain’s distorted rhythm guitar sound on Nevermind"

The Boss DS-1 is a distortion pedal for guitar, manufactured by the Roland Corporation under the brand name Boss since 1978. The first distortion unit made by Boss. This Distortion has been used by amateur to professional guitarist since 1978, you can found this pedal in almost all rock guitarist pedalboard.

This pedal is simple to use. It comes with a manual and some sample settings to help unexperienced users.  It has 3 knobs which are Tone knob, Distortion knob and Level knob.

But some guitarist prefer to modify this pedal, since it has thin sound and not punchy enough for aggressive playing. But it has a cheap price compare to other distortion pedal, so it worth to buy.

"The classic DS-1 Distortion pedal provides a harder distortion effect for guitar and keyboard sounds. Instead of toneless, fuzzy distortion, the DS-1 faithfully reproduces all the subtle nuances of playing dynamics at any volume."
