Ibanez Fireman

What come to your mind when you hear Fireman? This guitar could produce vicious, horrible, keen and the most terrifying guitar solo human could hear, but it also could sound really sweet and warm.

This is the signature guitar for Paul Gilbert, he made this guitar model himself, he said that he flipped the Ibanez Iceman model body to create the fireman, the name itself came from the opposite name of Iceman, which is Fireman.

Paul Gilbert is best known  as guitarist for Racer X and Mr. Big, as well as many solo albums and numerous collaborations and guest appearances with other musicians.

The FRM100TR features DiMarzio® pickups favored by Paul. The bridge and neck positions feature DiMarzio® Injectors™, while the middle features a DiMarzio® Area '67™. They are designed with hum-cancelling construction to eliminate the noise but retain single-coil tone. These pickups have a warm, modern tone compared to vintage single coil pickups, and provide a clear, tight sound. The sound stays true even under high gain settings, so solos can be clearly heard when performing with a group. The classic bright and clean sound is easy to achieve.

The FRM100TR features a specific layout to keep the volume knob location in Paul's favorite spot. In addition, the guitar features a pickup selector switch and an added tone control for maximum tone shaping.

The pickup are angled in some way, so the high note will still sound warm while the low note will still sound treble enough to cut through a dense rhythm. This exactly a really weird pickup configuration, because  conventional guitar such as Stratocaster angled the pickup in the opposite direction of this Fireman.
